Ivan Manuppelli, also known as Hurricane, is an Italian illustrator, musician and cartoonist.Strongly inspired by the American underground comix scene, he has animated the Italian indie scene founding the magazine The Artist (2001) and it's successor PUCK!
For Italian magazine Frigidaire, he created the comic book series 'The New Partisans', about the adventures of a group of terrorists octogenarians. Among his other creations are the animated series 'Aztrokitifk & Mario', "Precary Man" the first precary superhero, the autobiographical serie 'Groove' and 'Stanley the Jackal'. From 2011 to 2013 he collaborates with satirical magazine IL MALE, directed by Vauro & Vincino.
From 2015 he works as cartoonist and curator for Linus Magazine and Strade Bianche (Stampa Alternativa)
From 2016 he's one of the organizers of the indie comic festival AFA - Autoproduzioni Fichissime Andergraund in Milano (CSOA Leoncavallo).
In 2018 he starts to publish for the legendary MAD MAGAZINE and his first solo book "I Sopravvissuti" for ERIS EDIZIONI.
In 2019 he starts his collaboration with IL MANIFESTO (weekly comic stories).
In 2020 for IL MANIFESTO newspaper he starts a daily comic strip about Covid 19 titled "Cronache dal Virus".
